Time Machine

Jul 25, 2013

When I was little, I was quite fearless if I do say so myself. During recess, I would climb the trees in the park. I'd pick up as many ladybugs as I could, though I have since developed a fear of any flying insects. I'd swing on the swings until I was as high as possible so that I could jump off. I would hang upside down on the monkey bars with only my legs holding me up. If I hung off the bars like that now, I feel like I could potentially break them. Just maybe. That's probably why you see my forearm muscles so well in that photo because I'm trying to support my weight.

Dress: Sirens // Cardigan: Garage // Flats: Blowfish // Hat: Ardenes

This outfit is almost identical to what I wore to my high school graduation. The only difference is that I was wearing heels then. Flats are always a good substitution. Not to mention, they're a whole lot comfier in my opinion! The dress is extremely comfortable because the material is really light. I'm usually one who doesn't gravitate to patterns but I love the floral on this dress. It's eye-catching but at the same time it's not too in-your-face... if you get what I mean.

All this talk about the past makes me wish I had a time machine. I'm not 20 yet (soon to be next year though!) but I would love to live a care-free day again. I admire certain characteristics that I had when I was younger. I was daring and active. I had all the time in the world and a vivid imagination. Best of all, I did not care much about judgement. If I could regain those characteristics again, that would make life just a bit easier.
