Farmer's Market

August 04, 2013

It's a long weekend here in Canada! This time, my family and I ventured to the Farmer's Market in St. Jacobs. It's a really small village but it's full of delicious, fresh food! Just look at those peaches! People also sell their own products and clothing there but the main focus is no doubt the food. Because it was the long weekend, there were a lot of people. It wasn't exactly comfortable walking around. Luckily, the weather was amazing that day so it was really nice to spend the day outside.

St. Jacobs is a village of Mennonite heritage. There were quite a few Mennonite people selling food at the Market. I love seeing people from different walks of life! Several of them were selling maple candy. If you've never tried them, you're missing out! It's like maple syrup in hard candy form. Mmm maple syrup. I remember going to Quebec one year and eating the delicious maple taffy/toffee. Molten maple syrup is poured onto snow to cool. Once cooled, you roll it up onto your popsicle stick and eat!
I think most of these pictures will speak for itself, so enjoy!

My bag of corn and carrots :D

Since there was an outlet mall nearby, there's no reason not to go. Sadly, the sales weren't as good as I thought they would be so I went home empty handed. Here's a great picture for you to enjoy though: look at the line-up for Coach... it stretches more than what is pictured too! I believe this was the same for Kate Spade. I would not have the patience to line up for so long!
