Woohoo, today marks the first birthday of A Splash Of Tan!!! *virtual hi-five* Yup, I made a party hat just to take this picture. I never thought I would make it to this day because I didn't think I would keep posting. I can tell you very truthfully that getting to this point has been difficult. Blogging took a toll on me for at least the last 6 months. Sounds a little dramatic, right?

When I made my first post on this blog on July 12, 2013, I was really excited to have my own public outlet to share things with everyone, my way. Blogging gives you a lot of freedom- you choose what to write and what to take pictures of. When I hit that "publish" button, I felt so happy knowing that someone would be reading my content.

Many of you don't know I had a blog before "A Splash Of Tan." I will not share that one with you because it has more personal posts that I do not wish for everyone to read. I do however want to share with you one excerpt that I had on a post I wrote about social media:

If you know me well, you know that I love to buy things online. The ease of just sitting and shopping at the same time is so much more relaxing. eShakti was a new website to me so when they contacted me to do a review, I was very excited because their clothes looked awesome online. The shopping experience I had with them was different; in short, it was easy, simple, and fun. I chose a plain black dress but they have so many more options for whatever style of clothing you like.

Making a pair of shorts has been a huge challenge for me. I attempted two other shorts before finally succeeding with the pair shown above! Using an elastic as opposed to a fixed waistband makes it a lot easier because you don't have to be so precise with measurements. I used this deer print fabric to make a pair of pajama shorts but you can use whatever fabric to make elasticized shorts for everyday wear too. I took these pictures awhile back since you can still see some snow in the background. Funny thing though, it actually snowed yesterday. It's not normal! I've never really experienced snow in mid April- we had 20 some odd degree weather a few days ago and the next morning, I woke up to everything covered in white.

The perks of having a sister who is the same size as you is getting to share clothes. The boots and the scarf I'm wearing are my sister's and she gave me the tee as well. Good thing she lets me wear her clothes or else I would have to sneakily go into her closet. With my sister, I go with the saying, "what is yours is mine."
