Long time no see! Almost two months in and this is my first post of 2016. I haven't had the time or passion to blog for the past 5 months. A lot has been happening that I'll mention briefly about each below.

Winter has been interesting this year. Back in late December, I remember wearing my fall jacket and just last week, it was feeling like almost -40C. This outfit here has probably been the only "fashionable" thing I've worn this winter that keeps me warm enough under my jacket. These leggings probably don't look that warm but they're fleece lined and so comfortable. As you can see, the weather got better this week which is also why I was able to take pictures outside without freezing. In addition with my morning classes, I'm just so tired that I don't want to spend energy on picking out clothes to wear.

My final year of undergrad has officially begun! I'm not exactly excited about it just because it all seems too fast. Seriously, I'll be applying to my Master's starting in late October... it honestly feels like I've been in university for less than two years. Hopefully I'll get into my program and I'll have two more first days of school to look forward to!

This summer, I'm volunteering as a research assistant/helper/you name it in a lab at my school. I have to go through many training sessions and rat handling training is one of them. The day of training arrived and I was emailed to meet in a room outside the vivarium (the room where they keep the live animals). When the time came, I went to the specified floor in the building but the room was no where to be found.

Hello! I hope you didn't forget about me. I've been gone from the blog for quite some time now but with good reason. School just took over and along with volunteering and the snow, I just couldn't find the time and motivation to update. Luckily, school is finally done for this year so I'll be blogging a bit more.

The forecast this week is looking so nice which means it's time to break out the skirts. I've been waiting forever to start wearing them again (without leggings) but it never got warmer until now. No joke, I've been planning to wear this outfit probably since January because I was so in love with the skirt and the oxfords.

I had very mixed feelings with school starting this year. On one hand, I was excited to go to school because I could finally do something productive with my time and learn. On the other hand, I would have to start studying again and not be able to sleep in all the time. That... is my shameful first world problem.

Anyways, as a continuation of my post last year, here's another first day of school outfit post. I've been really loving these red TOMS lately- I'm enjoying wearing some brighter colours before fall comes.

I took these pictures awhile back since you can still see some snow in the background. Funny thing though, it actually snowed yesterday. It's not normal! I've never really experienced snow in mid April- we had 20 some odd degree weather a few days ago and the next morning, I woke up to everything covered in white.

The perks of having a sister who is the same size as you is getting to share clothes. The boots and the scarf I'm wearing are my sister's and she gave me the tee as well. Good thing she lets me wear her clothes or else I would have to sneakily go into her closet. With my sister, I go with the saying, "what is yours is mine."

You're probably questioning the title of my post right now and thinking why this post isn't about grape jelly waffles. Well, the longer I stared at this outfit trying to think of a name, the hungrier I got and the more my outfit began to resemble waffles. Adding the purple in it made me think of grapes. A name was born.

I'm not really one to take risks in life so fashion hasn't been one of those things. And here I am, wearing my first coloured pair of pants! Thanks to my sister for letting me borrow them (the perks of having a sister who is the same size as you).

Last year, I definitely was not involved in school. I'm a very shy person. I'm not quick to trying new things, especially when I'm on my own. When I look back, I feel like I wasted a whole year just studying and doing nothing else! This year, I'm slowly but surely trying to step out of my comfort zone to be a bit more "involved" at school.

If I counted correctly, this would be my 18th first day of school. I went to preschool for 2 years, kindergarten for 2 years, elementary school for 8 years, high school for 4 years, and now I'm entering my 2nd year of university. That's a lot of schooling right there! Even after so many years, I still try to plan out my first day of school outfit.

I can't believe that it's almost fall! That means it's time for changes- new clothes, new hair (rocking my new 'do), new teachers, new classes... you name it. Even though September is partially still considered summer, the weather no longer feels that way. I've started to get some cooler days where I live already. It's much more enjoyable because the air conditioning doesn't need to be blasted on high. I hate it when it gets extremely humid because I literally have to wear a sweater indoors and then tank top and shorts outdoors. I say the temperature around low to mid 20s feels the best.
